Holiday party Dec. 19
Rachelle Arama is organizing a holiday pot-luck party
at the club starting at 5 pm Wednesday Dec. 19. Please
sign up for food, drink and games at the front desk.
Tournaments this weekend
A busy weekend for AFC fencers. On Saturday the
division holds its qualifiers for the Junior Olympics
in Charlotte, N.C., in February. Typically, the top
two or three finishers in each age group qualify. This
is similar to the Summer National qualifiers we'll be
holding in the spring. If you want to compete at JO's,
you should enter Saturday.
On Sunday, ASU is hosting a 3-weapon open tournament.
The fields in all three events look very strong. Both
weekend events are at the ASU Athletic Center.
For information on the two tournaments and the
location, go to AskFred.net and enter "Rocky Mountain"
in the "region" field.
Holiday camp update
Unfortunately, schedule and tournament conflicts will
prevent us from holding a fencing camp in the first
week of January. We do plan to hold another "fun
fencing" tournament in January. Watch here and the
club bulletin board for more info.
Holiday hours
AFC is open all through the holidays for classes and
lessons, with the exception of Christmas Day and New
Year's Day. Please let the coaches know in advance of
any changes in your plans over the holidays.
The gift that keeps on giving...
Please don't forget your monthly club dues payment!
Merry Christmas, happy holidays and happy new year to
all!!
